What does it take to get 48 large flower pots from Lowell to Byron Center?
Have you ever driven down the freeway (“expressway” in Michigan terminology) and seen a 24′ cattle trailer loaded with flowers? Probably not! If you were traveling on I-96 or M-6 Friday you might have seen this sight!!
It takes my 12′ trailer and my husband’s 24′ cattle trailer to get all the planters to Railside Condos in Byron Center.
There are 24 condos in the complex. I planted the pots last weekend, the latest I have ever done them because of the weather. Unfortunately, with the late start the flowers were smaller than years past but I can’t fight with Mother Nature. I do two different plant combinations, when we arrive we drive the trailers around the circle and place two pots at each condo, alternating combos. I will go to Railside every two weeks throughout the summer to fertilize, deadhead and trim the pots. Here’s what the pots look like now

I’ll post updated photos this summer so you can see how the pots have changed.
Have a great Memorial Weekend!
