It’s been about three weeks since my last post which is not what I intended to happen. Last time I wrote about “into the peace of done.” Well, I wrote that a bit too soon because the two weeks following the post was nothing but one planting job after another. It was hectic and hard to find nice flowers to buy anywhere. On the 4th of July it was time for a little R&R. We headed up to Bois Blanc Island and stayed at a friend’s summer home. The island is accessible by ferry from Cheboygan and is in Lake Huron just East of Mackinac Island. Bois Blanc is a “boy’s paradise”, full of snakes, four-wheelers and wave runners. My two boys were in heaven!
One of the days we were there, we took the wave runner to Mackinac Island and spent the day. It’s a 10 minute ride across the lake, it took us 3 trips (7 people and only 1 wave runner). When we got there we rented bikes and rode around the island. The flowers were amazing! I took so many pictures it’s hard for me to pick which ones I want to share. These are not the best pictures…most were taken while I was riding the bike because everyone else in our group was yelling at me for stopping to look at the flowers. They finally said I couldn’t stop anymore, I would have to take the pictures while riding by, not the easiest thing to do!
The Gardener’s “Rig” on the island I love it! |
Every where you look there are hanging baskets and beautiful flower gardens. Next time, I’ll go by myself so I can take more time to enjoy the beauty!!!
