Hello! It’s been awhile! Spring has happened very slowly, actually, I’m not sure if is has happened here in Michigan. Looking outside you would still think it is winter with some snow and freezing rain coming down.
I am gearing up for the planting season and wanted to share some of the new annuals with you for the 2015 season.
Impatiens Bounce Pink Flame |
There are five colors in this series. This series was bred to resist downy mildew which nearly wiped out all impatiens three years ago. Impatiens are by far the best flower for the shade!
SunPatiens Spreading Shell Pink |
SunPatiens have really taken off over the past five years. They are great for heat and humidity and they will tolerate full sun to shade. I know they look like New Guinea Impatiens but they aren’t!
Geranium Calliope Crimson Flame |
I am not a fan of Geraniums but I love this color!
Supertunia Limoncello |
I just like the name of this one! (the cheerful color too)
Caladium Fire and Ice |
Another great plant for the shade! This would look great with red impatiens in a planter or as a colorful addition to an annual bed.
Lantana Marmalade |
Isn’t this a great mix of orange, yellow, and pink? Lantana does best during the hottest part of the summer and butterflies love it!
It’s a gloomy day here, but hopefully seeing these new plants brightened up your day!
